I am not a well read person. I spent most of my youth reading comic books. The few novels that I read were based on movies. The odd ones that I read, for completing reports on in school, were popular stories. “The Hobbit,” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” and “Dune,” were some of the novels that I read for those reports. Now that I am older, I still am reading comic books. I am also reading more magazines, reference books, and books that, in my youth, had little interest to me.
I enjoy reading very much, but was not very good in reading something consistently. I will often take large breaks between readings in order to finish chores, indulge in other hobbies, or work on the many projects that I am involved with.
Now I am compelled to read many different things. Bukowski’s poetry, Alexander Dumas, some Shakespeare, Kurt Vonnegut, Nick Hornby, Walter Tevis- just a few names in books that I wouldn’t mind reading. I work on reading the many coffee table sized books that pertain to art, machines, or movies. I have a reference library for my interests in the Martial Arts and computer software and hardware. Not only am I enjoying the process of reading, but I am enjoying the subject matter and the information I glean from the pages read.
